81 chopped last winter

Forest Lake, MN. I had a friend of mine drive my 81 XS to Forest Lake this last Sat. & enter my bike in the show. $10 entry fee went to missionary work with the church so I thought at least a good cause..I couldn't make the show personally as my 12 yr old had a soccer tourney & I had a wedding...

What a blast last night..Must have been 1500-2000 bikes minimum..I wish I had a camera. You name it, it was there. The Cb 750 I was ridding with broke down only 2 times on the way home! The 'ol six fiddy didn't skip a beat....

Hey Dirty & Classic..Dulonos tonight?

Get 'er back on the road JP & ride..My opinion these bikes need to have their tires turning as much as possible..Mine gets moody if she isn't running daily. keep in touch, I ran into a few other 650.com riders at the last Dulono's..Good folks & great bikes!

M, Yes, you engine sounds exactly like mine did. Pull the adjuster out check where the spring meets the adjuster, MY PO must have messed with it & forgot to reinstall the washer. Some are copper, Mikes XS are rubber coated.

Pull the adjuster out, remove spring, add washer, put spring back on & instal to spec. Noise will go away. At least it did for me..

I was able to do FULL welds at all 4 points with the motor in place. We just took our time & would weld no more than a 1/4" at a time. check measurements each time. I measured from the rear motor-mount bolts to the front of the rear axle plate on each side. Too much welding on one side at a...

Good to see Dirty Ernie & Classic @ the Bike Show last night. We need to find Classic another 650 although that half caf/gold wing was pretty bad ass....Ernie's buddy on a KZ1000 with Blue Gost flames was quite a trooper to make it down to the show with mom at home nursing a week old baby...
