I know people have said avoid the cheap ones, so let me add to that by telling people to avoid these:

I've converted my turn signals to dual filament running/signals. These bulbs are alright on their high setting, but the problem is that there is not a big enough difference between low and high. You can tell when they're blinking at night, but during the day you can hardly tell when they're on.

I'm probably going to get the 45 LED towers from superbright, but they're just so pricey...

I found an Importer site which has a number of interesting led options. Unfortunately there are no illumination specs and of course they are made in China. But face it nearly all of these devices are made in Asia.

Please not that some of these "bulbs" come in larger lots designed for resales.

well in a pinch autozone sells them. no downward facing white light tho.

now im kinda ghetto with some shit sometimes. would painting the inside of the housing a silver/reflective glossy color have any effect on sending some light downwards? possibly some light that gets bounced around inside from the lens?

Just put the 45-LED Tower from SuperBrightLEDs.com in all four of my turn signals. Wow. Expensive, but worth the money if you're looking for good visibility and low current draw.
