1979 "Keep It Simple" build

After working keeping me away from home and this project for far to long, and other distractions when I am home, I am finally back to getting some work done! Swing arm is in the frame and the engine mounts are ready to go.

Also finally got the engine just about done, hopefully these two will be joined in the next few days!

Very nice so far. Semi-Stock appearance in the end? What exhaust do you plan to use?

Yes, overall stance will be pretty stock, and the only frame mods are just removal of tabs and other unused things. Tank and other body work will be custom hand fabbed

There's some pictures in this thread:

After looking at the pictures, it appears that yours may be fine.

My XS1B shield is a little more horizontal, so maybe the angle changed a little for the later models. This is the only post I could find at the moment, the pic doesn't show it very well...

Yea it looks like it is pretty close to those. I will have to take a look at one of my earlier engines and see if there is actually a difference. Thanks for the links!

Im not normally into painted motors but that looks great! Subscribed!

Watching this build love where its going.

Thank you both! I was not originally going to paint it as I prefer the look of metal, but this paint looks so much like cast iron (as its name suggests) I was sold! By the way, I got her into the frame yesterday :D
