30 Tooth Rear Sprocket Evaluation

5th gear is a super simple swap, but you have to remove the transmission to do it. If you have the engine torn down, no biggie. Make sure you measure the shaft diameter though, as Mike has 2 different sizes and you might think you have one, but in reality need the other (ask me how I know!).

Installation is a matter of removing some snap rings, sliding old gears off and then back on in reverse. But it's certainly not something you can do in an afternoon (unless you're just REALLY good w/ these engines).

Thanks wannabridin, ya I'll have to save tht install for another time, I will only be going home for a few weeks and want to ride the while time haha

Definitely iff topic, but does anyone know where the federal emision sticker is located on the bike?

Does anyone have a pic of what it's supposed to look like?

What was the final result of the 5th gear overdrive?
Obviously doing a rear sprocket swap to smaller teeth would be the easier way to go; but after you've got a 30 tooth rear and the stock 17 front. What more would the 5th gear overdrive do for RPMs and MPH?

Also, has anyone seen significantly improved MPG on the sprocket/gear change?
