Good morning everyone, im sure ill get some great replies... just looking for maybe some starting points. So I rebuilt a 75 xs, hard tailed it, new gaskets, seals etc... new hughes handbuilt pma. So roughly a month after kicking for half hour, she started for a few seconds. I have her set up for kick only. It has been cold as balls, here in Milwaukee Wisconsin. So couple questions... if the timing is off, could that be an issue? Or does anyone have any other ideas? One thing I am doing, which im cool with changing, is currently im running a sportster coil. The good ole mikes xs site ones I ordered aren't correct, so I was just testing the sporty one out. Could that be a huge issue? Im trying to avoid completely breaking the case back open and diving back in... trying to trouble shoot what I can. I did have the carbs built by a member on here, he did say shoot hima call before starting but lost his info. The other thing is the freezing temps cant be helping either? Any suggestions? I have to get some foot controls welded on and a couple other things... im thinking I may have to wait until we get some warmer temps... kicking over a bike that hasn't ran in 25 + years in dead of winter just sounds like a bad idea. Anyone have any thoughts? If your in Milwaukee and care to chime in... beers on me!
