Hi All:

Another transplant of useful information from the ST Owners forum - this time the subject is getting cast wheels (and I suppose steel or aluminium rims) repaired in Eastern Canada.

One of the guys over on ST Owners had a fairly badly bent ST1300 rim and after some looking, he found a shop in Toronto which did an absolutely excellent job on it. He measured the run-out and he reports that the wheel is now straighter than when it came from the Honda factory back in 2006 (i.e. it is better than the spec called for in the shop manual).

The shop is called Union Rim (www.unionrim.com) and they charged around $130 CAD for the straightening job and an extra $110 CAD to completely strip and refinish the wheel. Apparently, the repaired & refinished wheel looks better than new and the repair has cured a significant handling and vibration problem on the bike.

Cheers,

Pete
