Hand me down Canadian XS650 build

Synced carbs, adjusted idle, dropped the oil and inspected filters and screens today. Everything's looking good so far, sounds mean! Hope to get it into school this week on the gas analyzer to see how the mixture looks. Such a shame the seasons pretty much done here, at least I have something to look forward to next year!

Well, spring is here and I must sadly report I pretty much did nothing to my ride over the winter. New teaching gig kept me hectic the whole damn time. School year is winding down so starting to tinker a bit. Set a personal dead line to have this thing plated and rolling in a month. Building a bracket for plate and brake light today

Looks great! Let me know if you ever want to go for a ride. Some buddies and I have a garage just down the street from SAIT so we're not too far. I'd love to pick your brain about some engine stuff at some point. Cheers!

Right on man, I'd be up for that :)
We are doing a staff/student show and shine in SAIT shop april 27th afternoon into evening. Hope to have her dialed in and road ready, stop by if your in the area

Tackled a bunch of odds and ends over the last couple nights. Got rid of my half stripped rocker plugs for some nice stainless units. Adjusted the valves, cam chain and balanced the carbs. Still need to finish the wiring to the tail light, just waiting on some licence plate lights. Gauges should be here tomorrow. Took some photos, she needs a good cleaning, completely coated in winter dust.

I had sorted out a work trade with a painter that works at my college but sadly he wasn't able to make time to spray my tank over the winter. Bit of a bummer but I understand how hectic the school year gets at a trade college. Got some mufflers ordered and on the way, something a little different but I think they are going to look pretty slick.
