Identification question (for an odd number?)

Heya folks! My xs number is 3L1-050102, I checked the forum and INXS PDF and my papers indicate that it is a xs650 Heritage, but the last digit (2) isn't in the PDF, its marked as a (1)

Do you think it is from 81 or 82? I need a new gasket set and there seems to be a difference between models from 81 and 82.

The number listed in the column is the beginning number in the series. The column heading says "from" meaning numbers in the series beginning with (in this case) 3L1-050101 Your number is by coincidence, the very next number 3L1-050102 The numbers would progress for each bike produced in that manufacturing run. The gasket sets would likely be the same. When your bike was sold and where would have the greatest bearing upon the model year designation applied to the sale whether listed as either a "81" or "82".
