looks like p.o. patch

It looks like the chain has broken some of the case behind the sprocket where the gasket is and the p.o has put silicone there if that is the case what should I do and there is silicone around the clutch push rod as well. I just pulled the engine today and will know more when I get deeper into it.... I would post a picture but I can't figure it out on my phone
