Hi -new guy on site!! I have a 1980 xs 650 stock frame-street tracker rear fender/seat combo. Looking for a metal gas tank that would look good on this set-up any suggestions-what works /or doesnt. Thanks lew
xs750 tank (not the special tanks though) looks nice and fits with relatively few modifications.
This one is from a 1977 xs750.
no welding is required. Just cut the cups from the stock 650 frame and drill one hole thru frame. Use a long bolt and the stock 650 rubbers and bolt rubbers right thru the frame in the place that you want it to match up with 750 tank cups. There are threads on how to do it including measurements of where to drill thru frame
Thanks for the info.i think i need a shorter tank.i am sending a pic of my bike.i think there is less space between the end of my seat and the neck. Hey i lived in wis. Milwaukee racine kenosha. I have bs 34 carbs on my bike-they run to fast when i pull enrichener all out for cold starts?? Thanks lew
