These engines rely more on 'flow' than pressure. They don't use babbit/insert style bearings that require higher pressures.
If you have an early XS1 or XS1B/F, you can upgrade the oil pump from the thinner 4mm or 6mm trochoid rotor type to the later 8mm thickness. The 8mm pump should deliver about 1 gallon per minute at 3000 rpm. That's a lot of flow...
