I recently stumbled across the photography of a "Danny Lyon". He took a bunch of photos of bikers in the mid 60's, even published a book. I'd post links to his pictures, but i cant seem to find a gallery anywhere. Anyway, a google picture seach of his name will pull up tons. Neat stuff!
