Hi all,

Been a while since I've posted but I haven't been working on the xs650 recently. I am however getting back into it again and would like to do the tires. Would just like to confirm my order with y'all and make sure what I've got will be okay.

I've got a 1978 xs650E with standard spoked rims. The rim/tires are 3.5/19 tires in the front and 4.25 18's in the back. My understanding is this corresponds to 100/90 19 and 110/90 18.

I'd like to order these tubes.

The tires I'd like are Pirelli Sport Demons. Found these on Revzilla and I'm wondering if the speed/load ratings will mix okay? I couldn't find a better match for these specific tires. I am willing to just take the rims to a shop and order there but I figure I can save some money and learn something new if I put them on myself and just pay to get them balanced. Also open to suggestions on other high quality tires, money isn't too big of an issue but I don't want to go too much higher. Thanks!

Hi Vizzinzin,
Pirelli has a good rep. and I wouldn't sweat the speed ratings.
H-rated tires are OK at 100+mph sustained speed and V-rated tires are rated even faster.
So long as your XS650 ain't supercharged or rocket-boosted you'll be fine.

Thanks! I guess I was just concerned that they're mismatched. I definitely don't plan on going that fast anytime soon, things would probably start falling off my bike.
