Orientation of anti packing disc on post 78 clutch boss?

I am swapping clutch packs from my 75 to the 81 with the spring loaded boss.

I noticed after disassembly that the specialty metal plate for the spring loaded boss is dished, and in my haste, I did not check the orientation when I took it apart.

I'm wondering which side goes down? It makes sense that the center portion would go down since it fits in the ridge of the retaining ring beneath it, can anyone confirm?

I think it only fits one way. I have done the sme used the later model clutch in my 75. I just can't recall just which way it went.
