Scareous XS650

having no filters would make it run lean if the Air mixture screw or jets, If needed, haven't already been changed

So, do I go with the standard inserts for the air boxes?
Or open a can of worms with pod filters? I'm bound to head that way eventually, so may as well bite the bullet now..
Am I destined for a re-jet?

If its all setup for stock and you just wanna ride around, maybe just drop some stock filters back in. if you plan on making exhaust / performance changes id go pods.

At $32.00 US each + freight, (MikesXS), i think the pod option would be cheaper. That would convert to over $100.00 NZ.

They used to be $24.00 each before the new owners took over

True they are pricey. Perhaps Andrew (in Pukekohe) might be able to help, but who knows what the condition would be...

After having a read, I think I will go with some Uni filters.

Am I right in identifying my carbs as BS38's?

The OD of the carb intake is 52mm..

So I am guessing the Uni #UP4200ST?

So bout the photos up the wrong fn way..

Cool thanks!

I have Uni Filters on the way, and got new fuel filters and fuel lines (old ones were bent a bit)..
Will all be put back together after my tank is finished!

I debadged it on the weekend, bogged it up, flat blacked it, now my missus is doing some wee drawings on it for me - a la jap crap ;)

All the fuel line, filter, air filter jazz is done..
Few backfires. Will look into it further tomorrow, Has been sitting for a bit..
May need to rejet eh!

Why do my petcock things come out at different angles, where the fuel pisses out, one faces in one face back..?

Oh and the side covers fit fine, just. Good.
