I have a 1976 xs with points I installed a solid state reg/rec for points I bought from someone that said it was good, however I was getting no increase in output to battery with increased rpms but did when I jumped green wire to ground. So I bought a new unit and am still not getting an increase in voltage. Any Ideas on where to go next?

Jumping green to ground is a test of the later '80-up charging system. Doing that on a '70-'79 system would blow a fuse. Sounds like you have a frankenbike...

I have a 76 with points and a solid state rec reg. I cant find a proper wiring diagram anywhere. How do you have yours wired up?

I would look to see if it was wired in right, making sure it has a good ground.
If your combo reg/rec is from Mike's and is for the 70-79 points bikes then these are the instructions for wiring it in.
Note how it tells to run a ground from the body of the reg/rec and splice it into the black wire.
