So I've started another 650, this one is for a customer, I lost some pictures so there is a few gaps in between but this is where I'm at with it right now
fa4335a2728fdba08c35d6b0eaab1654.jpg
it's a 3 inch drop seat with a 6 inch stretch

i made the clip ons and the rear fender from scratch

Made a seat pan to curve around the rear fender

and covered it with foam and it's actually really comfortable

I started the pipes tonight, he wanted stainless with pie cuts and the welds will all be exposed when done so they should make some nice Coker once the bike is fired up

still got a ways to go on the pipes, all the cuts take a long time

well that's where I'm at with it right now I hope you guys like it. I also have a Facebook page DC Cycle Works that follows along with this project and all the other bike stuff if anyone is interested please follow along

Thanks man, this one has been a lot of fun. The guy paid cash up front and just said to build something cool and call him when it was done so it's given a lot of freedom to play around with things.

I have to say, I'm not usually a fan of this style but I like this one.
Well done.

Thanks 650Guy, I'm assuming by the lack of response I have gotten that a lot of people aren't a fan of this style bike haha, I usually am not into drop seat bikes either but that was the one request this guy had.

But, you have received a lot of 'views', and I've been  watching.
Your dropseat has caught my attention, would like to try sitting on one someday...

Ya I did get a lot of views haha. I really like this drop seat because I'm 6'6" and as you can see if the picture I'm still big on the bike but it doesn't fit me too bad, too bad it's not for me haha

Angus, are you talking about in the last two pictures? That was the stock headlight bucket, and I think the wiring from the gauges went through it, but that light is no longer on the bike. I think in the third post there is a picture with the current headlight

Made a little headway on the pipes tonight, I think I'm gonna put a little turn out at the end also. Anyone have any recommendations for a decent baffle that fits inside 1.5 pipes

Very cool bike.... big fan of drop seat style. I have built 5 and all were for guys over 6' tall HAHA. I really like the hardtail nice design. Would look good with the fat spoke wheels
LONG AND LOW all the way. I am doing one now for myself with a TURBO . Drop seat and 5" in frame center. Hers one I did check out the wheels your bike would look good with these.
KEEP CHOPPIN:thumbsup:
Rich

Kind of slow progress over the holidays, and I got summoned for jury duty, but between the chaos I managed to get the spoked wheels on. And I decided I wasn't happy with part of the exhaust so I'm doing it over again
