you could look for a thin enough coaxial cable to fit through the hole and of course thread the co-ax through first and attach the terminals afterwards.
And if I hadn't part-exchanged it for my XS650 I coulda still had my CB450 but I'd have to change my sign-in name to Blandintoon.

I would think if you loosen the mount nut, turn the signal so the pin points down and wiggle it the pin will fall out??? Completely remove, tap on a solid surface....

No. The pin is firmly attached to the inner stalk. I think if that would work it would have fallen out thousands of miles ago.
