TX650 speedo disassembly

Hi folks
Just cleaning up my TX650 1973 instruments(Gauges). I ha ve done the pull down on the Tacho- all good.
My question is, how does the chrome band around the speedo come off?
i have removed the trip meter knob but still can't get the chrome rim off!!
any ideas?

Did you just take the knob off, or did you take the shaft off too? I think that trip knob shaft needs to come off also. Check out Mailman's thread here on his XS2 restoration. He does a fine job of covering disassembly. Good luck!

Yes it does.

I had mine apart the other day.

I found a little screw driver to get the initial pry of the lip is nice followed by the paint can opener.
