XS1B indicators - another dumb question

Can someone please clarify the difference between the front and rear indicators that should be fitted to my XS1B ?
I'm sort of getting conflicting information from different sources.
The two rear (?) items I've got have had the innards and wiring stripped out but have a solid 8mm mount stud.
Can't see how the wire could run through the solid mount collar.
There are also illustrations with a hollow mount stud with the wire passing through its centre.

Are the indicators externally the same size, front to rear ?
The supposed rears I have are approximately 125mm long from the mount face.

That's opened up a can of worms.
My parts catalogue totally contradicts that, but it's probably for a different market as it covers XS1, XS1F, XS2.
According to my parts book, only the '70 XS1 model has that type of fender stay (256-21645-00), the XS1F and XS2 have the later type (256-21645-01) with different indicator mounts.
My XS1B (North American market AFAIK) also has the late type fender stay along with the round type tail lamp.
So I think I need indicators with hollow mount studs

So, this "book" that I have also shows the "octagon with a circle" small taillight for XS1, round for XS1B and XS2 - and that matches my memory.

I'm quite confident now that I don't need the "solid stud/side wire" type indicators at the rear.
In fact my favoured UK supplier (Yambits) lists front indicators and rear indicators as separate items, but if I'd bothered to look at the product code, it's actually the same item.
