Your favorite car 'if you had the wherewithall'...

A 1957 Fuelie-4 speed Corvette I bought my senior year in high school (1964) for $1150.

I like anything old pretty much. From datsun 240z to 40s and 50s american cars to muscle cars. I even really enjoy my 4 door 71 valiant. It's not fast and it doesn't stop particularly well with 4 wheel non power drums. But with the 225 slanty I can drive it pretty affordably all the time in summer.

The 1968 Mustang has to be a favourite of mine. I bought one new in 1968. It had the 289 cu in engine with a 2 barrel carb, and automatic transmission. It was fast and a lot of fun to drive. However,I was getting too many speeding tickets. Had it for 5 years, and put on 100,000 miles.

Some negatives were the manual steering and manual drum brakes. As CDNTX650 mentioned, 4 wheel drum brakes are really poor brakes. Makes you appreciate todays modern disc brakes.

This one was a lady's grocery getter. Got the power steering instead.....would gladly trade the awfully vague feel power steering for power drums...haha.

1968 charger r/t with those pretty round taillights. 1953 Ford f100 with the V8 grill. 1969 Chevy c10, orange and white. 1987 BMW 325i convertible. I've got the chev and the beemer. two more to go

Hmm
I've had at least one of each year charger from 66-70
First car in 1986 was a yellow 68 383 charger with chrome reverse wheels and a pimpin Craig 8 track lol
I'd guess either a clean 68 charger 383 4 speed or 440 or a 71 formula 455 firebird

AWESOME!!! Kinda cool, I'm at the age that all of those cars were still rollin' around as drivers during my teen years. I was 15 and working as a pump jockey when I missed my 67 Impala fastback for $150... GRRRRRRR! Knew a guy that had a hotrod Studebaker supercharged (Avanti I think?), had a buddy that had a 68 Mustang coupe that we abused REGULARLY and OFTEN, another buddy got a nice 68 Camaro SS, my dad got a 54 Ford F-100 with the 292 V-8, I 'PASSED" on a 68 Charger R/T with a 440 one day because 'a DODGE...? Are you KIDDING ME???' OH MY GOD, that car was $150 and a buddy bought it and rolled it into a lake in a high speed chase with the SDHP. I found a super clean 66 LeMans sport coupe for a friend for $300 BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE THAT MUCH TO BUY IT!!!! DAMN YOU $3.35 an hour minimum wage!!!!!

66 galaxie xl. I had to sell . Had to decide between that, or my 67 Fairlane I drove home in with my new bride. I still have the fairlane. Found original bill of sale from po today.
Fairlane needed less work to stay on the road. Gal had a 352, wasn't quick, the fairlane with a 289 auto would spank it stop light to stop light, but on the freeway, there was no stopping it.

My grandfather was a Studebaker & Rambler nut. He had the Hawk with the Paxton supercharger.
My other grandfather was a VW nut. He went thru 17 of those things.
My dad had Packards & Cadillacs. Sold those to catch the Wankel craze.

I've had some "opportunities" slip under my nose, almost pulled the trigger on:
Drag-race prepped '55 Chevy, new (but 5 years old) '75 Bricklin, Pantera, Lotus Europa, Opal GT with the rare factory air conditioning, MGB GT250, Kaiser, kit cars (sleek bodied VW conversions, Arntz Cobra).

Any late '60s - early '70s muscle car (except AMC) would be quite pleasing.

The Taylor Aerocar was on my wish list for quite some time:

those XL's were a good lookin' car, even the later ones 67, 68? So far, I ain't seen a dog in the collection! Helped a guy screw me out of my 68 Javelin and 'passed' on a 390 4-speed gopack AMX one time. How god-forsaken DUMB was I...? POOR was I! My '68 Bonneville with the venerable 428 BLEW UP while I was driving it HOME (about 5 miles!!!) from where I bought it! Jeesh...

'67 split window VW van. 21 window Deluxe. I'd like my '78 Westy (poptop camper) back too.

Classic Car dealership down here has quite a selection.
C'mon down and pick one out.
