    Thanks "Wherearewe." That answered the tightening of the bolt question. I figured/reasoned out that extended forks still use the same amount of oil as stock forks.

    I just added two inches to my front end with Frank's Forks on a 1978 XS650 SE. Questions: 1) How do I get the Allen bolt in the bottom of each fork to tighten? The cylinder and piston the Allen bolt screws into just keeps turning inside the lower fork. 2) My forks are now 2" over stock...

    Usually I just tighten down the carb intake bolts, but am curious now if I should torque them down. Is there a torque specification for them. Can't find torques specs in my Clymer or XS650.com. Just not my day ;-) Anyway, anyone one have a suggestion? Just tighten them like I have been or torque...

    I agree with Daddy G that it looks much better without the upper engine mount. I don't think a chopper needs it anyway...

    Has anyone tried building a belt drive XS650?

    Thanks to all of you. I'm trying a new chain lube Angus. Dupont "Chain Saver." If you let it dry 60 minutes it's supposed to have minimal fling and it's clear colored. Wow, both remarkable stories Skull. LOL, I got a kick out of Dave Raynor's remark about why he went to a belt drive...

    40 Degree Raked Neck & Raked Triple Tree

    I found what I need for about $100. Also, I found the Yamaha Virago 700 has the forward axle with 36 mm tubes am going to check it out as well.
