    which fork brace

Hi guys, just a quick and simple question: What is a good functional fork brace that will fit my 79' special? I've seen the ones at Mikes and Omars, are there others? Are there ones that are recommended, that aren't just for looks but that do the job well? What are you guys using?

    Stupid Musings (It involves magnets)

Bit of a back story, I've been planning my hardtailed bike build and I'm about set on the TC Bros. air bag suspension for the solo seat. I also have a strong fondness for powerful neodymium magnets and trains. Now here's my thought. Would it be practicable to create a maglev solo seat? I'd...

    Mulholland interpart? (air shock rebuilding)

Hello all, my bike has Mulholland Interpart Force 1 shocks, and i'm thinking about rebuilding them. When I googled the name however, I didn't get very many results. Does Mulholland Interpart exist anymore? Can I get a rebuild kit for these shocks? Can I rebuild them without having a "kit" to do...

    Radian Swingarm: School me

I've seen some builds that have this swingarm and it looks really nice. What is the deal on these? Will my stock rear axle work? Bushings? Shock mounts? Any info from people who have used them would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Springer. -2, +2 meaning?

What is the meaning of -2 and +2? is it that one is 2" bigger or shorter or something? I have a 2+ springer that I want to throw on my 81'. I am not concerned about the installation vs to what it does to the bikes geometry. Anyone running a 2+?

TC Bros. Air Ride Solo Seat Braket

Has anyone tried one of these yet for their solo seats? I am planning on a mix of modern & vintage on my build, and this is right up my alley. I also like the idea of having the ability to dial in my ideal seat suspension pressure. I just need to know if it is all that they claim to be and if it...

82 special, first rebuild, grab bar removed, need spacer?

hey folks, I am doing a pretty serious custom job on my 82 special. I removed the rear grab-bar and noticed that it connects to the frame in the same place as the top eye on the rear shocks. Does a springer increase the wheelbase at all?

Looking at profile photos of both stock and springer front ends it appears that installing a springer might increase the wheelbase by an inch +/- (over stock). True or not? Let's say it's a DNA springer since that seems to be used the most. Thanks for any input. Had my '80 for four years...

    35mm forks for a 72 frame.

Hi I've been looking around the forums for info but haven't quite found what I'm looking for... My next project is a 72 (for my second street tracker) - it came with only the frame motor and tank. From what i understand it's a good idea to convert to 35mm forks. Good news is that i have the...

Cracked part (don't know what it's called), needs replacing?

Hi guys, This is my first post to this forum. My 1979 XS650 (henceforth Vicky!) is my first bike and I've been riding her every day since I got her back in January. Recently had a bit of a snafu with her; a horrible noise came out of nowhere while riding. Initially thought it might be...

    Bar Clamp Options

I love the look of the flat "drag bars" on my '75 650B. However, being the middle-aged, height-challenged type, I am finding them to be a bit rough on my back. Are there any bar clamp "risers" out there that I can install in my stock triple clamps and dampers to raise my bars an inch or two...

I have a 1975 XS650 that I am rebuilding and I am in the process of putting the front end together, but I have ran into an issue. How high do I mount the forks into the triple tree? Should they be flush with the top? I have looked a lot online and have not been able to find out how to...
