What about this 0w50 or 0w40 oil? What is it like at 30 degrees, say?

Well, the first number is supposed to be its cold weather, start up viscosity, and the second its viscosity at running temp. The smaller the first number, the easier the bike is to kick over on a cold morning, so...

I use 10w30 in the winter here in Colorado. unless you are in Alaska, you prob don't need to go as low as 0.

why in hell would you ride at 30*? did that once over tiger pass over here. once, never again.

Even with the pressure gauge I wouldn't reccomend very long rides. 10 to 15 miles tops. Change it every 500 miles it might be ok.
