1974 z-8 instead of z-6 short

Along with all of the other users that found out about long and short z-6 needle jets, I need help finding the short ones. I have a 1974 tx650a with mikuni Bs38 round slide carb. I have heard that z-8 needles can be used instead but i would like to hear from someone else on an experience. Thanks
