Hey im a new motorcycle owner and I have a question I have a an xs650 and the front has been lowered 3.5 inches how do I check the fluid level in the front forks and how do I know how much to add any help is appreciated.
how full do you fill them?? All the way to the top i know you said 5.2oz but is that on a stock fork?? what about one that is shortened by 3.5 inches??
The Clymer book, 1980 XS650 section, front fork explains to use 5.7oz or 169cc of SAE 10 motor oil. However, from what i have read in the forum, most people use about 7oz in each fork leg. I see that some people use fork oil or 10W30 motor oil. I dont know if it will make a differance. I have stock forks and used 10W30 conventional motor oil, 7 oz, in each front fork and i have no problems.
