I can use some help to confirm the model year of my XS. If I read the chart below correctly then my bike VIN# 2F0 207XXX is a 1980 XS650SG, correct?
No title/registration to look at.


XS650F 2F0 2F0-150101 1979 Cobalt Blue
XS650SF 2M0 2F0-250101 1979 Carmine Red, Black Gold
XS650-2F 3N0 4F0-250101 1979 New Yamaha Black
XS650G 3G0 3G0-000101 1980 Black Gold

Sounds right to me does it have the chrome top carbs float bowl bolts not a drain fitting (brass floats)? that would peg it as 1980, course carbs may have been changed.

It does have the crome top carbs. The date of mfg on the VIN sticker shows 8/79, that is why I wanted to double check.

That adds up, late in the year made on dates usually are the next years model. A 79 would have had aluminum top carbs.
