Just another Fong Bros wannabe.... long on time, short on cash!

This showed up in the mail today, helps me look the part.

Either that or I am going to have to take a DeLorean back to some old school go-cart track. The one that your parents wouldn't let you go on when you were next door at some lame-ass farmers market looking at collectable spoons for your grandmother. Well look at me now Mom & Dad...I'm a man....I have $2,500, an angle grinder and a bad attitude. SEE WHAT YOU'VE CREATED!

Here's the pic Ryan just sent me before packing up and shipping me my new seat.
My only complaint is that it looks a little toooooo nice!

Because I don't want to get mowed down and the last thing that I need is more heat from the 5-0...I decided that I'd rock turn signal lights. Having said that, I don't want to ruin the clean, old school look of the bobber with bolt on eBay garbage.

As such, I picked up some waterproof LED rope lighting. As you can see in the pictures, they are super discreet when off, and as bright as blueberries and cherries when flashing. Here they are mocked up for the first time. I'll shorten them and then hide the wires further down the road.

Here's a mock up of the exhaust's that came with my Special II. At first I was gung ho to remover the mufflers and run only the headers, heat wrapped and silenced with baffles. After seeing the dual mufflers on the bike, the look is kinda growin' on me.

What do you think? I'm looking for feedback not only on the look but on how loud headers would be without the mufflers and simple baffles in the tips.

I'm pretty secure with my manhood and don't need you to hear me coming a 1/2 mile away.

The mufflers actually look pretty good. Is there a way to shorten them 3-4in so they aren't past the last bend in the frame? I think just a tad bit shorter would be perfect.

Nice looking build. I don't really like the led strips, but I think it's an interesting idea. Overall, I'd say it's pretty awesome.

I dig it. Very cool. I like the tribute stamp. I will start using that on mine since im building it to be a "tribute" of an-bu lol. Those lights are killer!

I like the longer pipes. but then again I really dig this look

Those bikes do paint a pretty picture of the long pipes, I'm picking up what you're layin' down! Thanks to everyone for their opinions, good or bad......I wouldn't have asked if I didn't value what you all have to say.

Awesome looking build! I have a lot of similar things done to my build, and I really like how yours turned out. Im a big fan of the Firestones even tho they cost a a few extra dollars, they are worth it for the look. I was planning to paint my frame black, but after seeing yours, I might go more with a copper/brown. How much did you lower your forks? Keep up the good work, I will be keeping an eye on your progress!

Man the paint on that frame is probably the best faux patina I have seen! Looks awesome..

And this is the first bike I have seen that pulls of the king tank.

You dont think you'll slide right off that polished seat and get your ass eaten by the rear tire?

Thanks for the great feedback! The forks are lowered 2.5" but it's deceiving because I also have the fork legs pushed up in the triple tree. This allows another .5" adjustable drop.

Holy crap I'm copying those front directionals. Super clean man that's a great idea hope you don't mind

You know it! Just make sure that you buy a $13 led flasher from superbrightleds as they'll flash your signal lights at a regular rate under any load, without running inline resistors.

The seat will be 'sprung' once i weld on a tab to the frame. For now, its just sitting on a paint cap (the black thing).

Really cool looking build. I really like the welded-back-on footpeg mounts. I would be pretty nervous with that seat and no rear fender though. I like the pipes too. I'm probably gonna steal some ideas once I work up the courage to start cutting my bike.
