Thank you for all the replies. Will shop this weekend for low carb to see how I manage.
A new adventure !...
You really don't need to buy anything special
Just eat more meat , fish and dairy like eggs and cheese and cream .
You'll find it hard at first to go without your usual carbs so make sure that you have none of these in the house to tempt you.
Bread, pastry, rice, pasta, biscuits, cake and cereals, chocolate, sugar ,chips, potatoes etc
Make sure that you have plenty of fat and protein snacks in the house to nibble on between meals or whenever you are hungry
Boiled eggs , cheese cubes, nuts, chicken ,sausages, beef /pork slices, cream , full fat milk, fish (mackrel pilchards sardines etc )
All you need to do is eat your normal meals.... but ....without any carbs for the first 2-3 weeks.... that includes no fruit and below ground vegetables.
All leafy green veg is good .
A typical breakfast could be fried eggs bacon sausage tomatoes and mushrooms . Cook in lard only unless you like olive oil .
Lunch might be mackrell and spinach or a 3x egg omlette with cheese and mushrooms
You can see that you never need to go hungry ,that is definitely not the way to go because nobody can sustain that as a lifestyle for long.
I usually have a large mug of coffee for breakfast with a tablespoon of double cream in it. That will often last me until 2-3pm in the afternoon if I'm busy. if I am sitting around inactive I will probably end up having bacon tomatoes and sausages for lunch . if I get peckish I might have a tablespoon of double cream or a cube of mature cheddar cheese or a couple of cocktail sausages or a sardine or a boiled egg or a slice of chicken or beef or pork there are lots of healthy snacks including a small amount of dark chocolate occasionally .
if you normally have sugar in tea or coffee then buy some Stevia instead, it is the only organic sugar substitute with zero sugar or carbs.
