Bit longer than my packet of smokes 
Shorter than the biltwell seat posts
Posts on the seat are 7" apart and the coil fits between them...
Ok, thats all I can say for now, I can measure mine for you tonight... Australian time, so you probably wont see the reply until 2015 :-(

Wow thanks I appreciate it. Need rough dimension so I can weld in tabs that I can trim later. Sending frame to powdercoat next week.

No prob, ill measure tonight.
On mine, I dont have tabs, I drilled holes, and used the stand-offs then the bolts (6mm) go through the hole, through the stand-offs and tighen the coil on... real neat. (Mine is actually mounted under my seat) - on a rigid.
