I just got my bike back from the mechanic today. Now runs on both cylinders, but their are sounds that are foreign to me, so I may not be far behind you.

ah, that sucks...i have never worked on one of these bikes, i just bought it last week and it fires right up but i am doin a chopper project with it and want to get the top end apart and see how the chain tensioners look and clean up the valve and paint the motor, so hopefully it goes pretty smooth, i ordered a manual and gasket kit from my work and they should be here tomorrow....i think i am also gonna copy someones idea i saw on here and make and car engine stand into an xs650 ending stand so its not taking up room on my work bench....good luck on yours man, let me know what the sounds are.

Thanks man. I am hoping it's just low on oil and a bit rickety from sitting up for a year and some change and above that maybe just a valve job. If not, I guess it's time to tear it open.
