Stock 1975 XS650, purchased the bike in Michigan, approximatly 500'asl. Moved the bike to North Carolina; riding from 2500' to 4500' asl regularly. Bike seems to run well enough but seems a touch rich & getting 45mpg. Planning on installing a set of UNI foam filters. Will this change possibly allow the bike to run to a more correct leaner mix? higher altitude= bike runs richer, UNI filter =bike runs leaner

A little rich and getting 45 mpg in the mountains is probably ok. But I think you are right in that the uni filters will lean things out. How much leaner though.
