Steering head

Cheers Marlin. When your life depends on getting things right you appreciate all advice. I have put the new forks in place and will now do a little experimentation with the stem nuts. To be honest, I prefer the "just right" approach which gives me relatively light steering without inspiring any "wobble" at speed - subjective I know but then we set our bikes up to suit our own idiosyncrasies. Just look at Fred's aversion to the buckhorns whilst I would put them in my car if I could. I use Marine grade grease, (the blue stuff), - my outboard lives in a harsh environment and if the grease can withstand seawater, it must be good. No "clunks" at the moment and the front end bounces nicely so, life is all smiles in my garage. My new starter works perfectly but sounds like a wood rasp on an aluminium edge. That's where I'm headed next. Ah! the joys!!
