Turn signals stay on but won't blink

I recently installed a set of those mini bullet style marker lights and they will turn on with the switch but stay on and won't blink. The stock turn signals worked just fine right before and I wired them up the same. The only difference I saw was that the bullet lights only have the single element bulb. I'm wondering if they aren't blinking because those bulbs require more voltage or if I need to switch out the sockets in order to accept a dual element bulb? I've never had any charging problems either. Has anyone else run into this?

The stock flasher will only flash with 27 watt bulbs. most of the mini lights use a 23 watt bulb. Get a 533 or 522 can't ever seem to remeber which one, flasher from the parts store. It only has two prongs, plug it in where the stock flasher goes. Plug it in so one prong goes to the brown wire and one to the brown/white wire.
