As some may have noticed, I have a bit of a " fetish" for saving weight on motorcycles, especially unsprung weight. Which includes rims, brakes, hubs, sprockets, chain, front fenders, tyres and tubes. So I thought starting a thread on tyre&tube weight may be of some interest. I recently fitted a new rear tyre, Avon AM 26 in 120/90-18. I went for 90 profile to raise gearing a tad, as well as lifting the rear a little bit.
This tyre weighs 6.500 kg, and the Vee Rubber tube weighs 0.800 kg.
