The dead cylinder method works ok if you have the stock ignition when you can just pull the spark plug wire off, but if you have a Pamco it's kinda a pain. You can fry the Pamco. So it,s just easier to have the barbs in place.

Well that's a really good reason to do it. Now I just hope I remember by the time I get around to taking my head off.
