Hi folks, I have a 1980 XS850SG (special) and I measured the ignition coil resistance to make sure I am in spec.
The factory service manual spec calls for 2.75ohm on Primary and 7.9ohm on Secondary with 10% torelerance on both.
Is this secondary spec considers a spark plug cap installed or excluded?
My spark plug cap has a 4.5ohm resistor built into it. So I am thinking the secodary coil spec is only for the secondary coil 'without' the spark plug wire connected to the coil.
Am I right about this?
