Garage Art

Yesterday I had the oppprtumity to try out the camera in this new iPhone, my first smartphone. Went to the vintage drag races at the Nostalgia Dragway in S Butler NY, a tiny 1/4 mile track out in the country .

There was a swap meet, too.
I picked up this small arbor press as garage art, but then realized it will be quite useful in the shop. Made in Wisconsin.

Very nice! That looks like it might weigh a couple pounds!
You’re gonna love that new iPhone.

yea, the iphone is pretty cool, tho Siri and I had our first argument last night; she said, "YOU can't talk to ME that way, fella! You're sleeping on the couch tonight! And I just hit the off button. Nice feature, that off button. :D

Who was that masked man?:umm: Garage sale for 50 cents. No way I`m passing this up. Poster was in the "free box".

Off topic but up until last week the caddy had the same gas in it since 2014. I`ve driven it 244 mi since then. It finally got down to below a 1/4 tank so I filled it up with 99 octane and some additive. Good to go for another 4-5 years.:) My truck has this little bobble head rabbit. Glenda bought it for me because it bobbles "Yes" all the time and she said that`s the only thing that will always agree with me! Go figure!

Recent flea market find.
Circa 1969.
2 "C" cells in the base.
She needed a bit of repair, but now when you push the button, she shakes her hips.
No kidding, she's made of latex.
My apologies to all the female website members.
Perhaps now I should put her in a drawer and lock it.

Actually, Bob, I have made a video of her shakin' her thang, but I would have to first post it to YouTube, and I don't want to risk my reputation with such international exposure, if you know what I mean..............maybe if I could figure out how to keep the video private.......

Lol, no worries Jeff. I was just having some sport. :D

My family has been in trucking for as long as I can remember and this used to hang in both my grandpa and father’s offices. The trucking company is long gone but I have hung onto this picture knowing I would find the right home for it someday. I am now the last of my family still involved in trucking, so I have some real sentimental attachment to it. I think it makes a great addition to my shop and reminds me of my family every time I look at it!

Willis,
You hit The trifecta with that one. It has a great family history story, it’s cool subject matter, AND it’s a great piece of garage art! I love it! And boy is your bike looking sharp there buddy! You need to get out and take some nice ride shots of that beauty! ;)

Thanks Bob. I still have what I believe is an intake leak somewhere I have yet to correct. I haven’t had much shop time lately but need to get on that ASAP. The leaves are about to start changing here and will make for some wonderful riding pics. The list is long and time is short as always. Old man winter will be here before I know it.

I was out on my '75 yesterday, a balmy sunny day, and the leaves were blowing around everywhere; I had the same thought: winter will be here in no time at all, so I must make use of every opportunity to ride.

Trophys from when I was young and dumb and full of you know what. Standard sign from SERVICE station I worked at while in high school. NOS first time ever hung up. Penton sign from bike shop I raced out of.

Oh by the way I have 2 XS2s One I bought from my brother when I was 18.

Man I love your garage! I don’t even know where to start, first of all nothing is more authentic than trophy’s earned by the garage owner himself. And you used to work in a Penton shop? And race them? You da man brother!
When I was in high school I loved all the road racers and moto cross racers, but in my humble opinion the team that used to go and represent the USA in the International Six Day Trials were the best racers in the world, bar none! Team Penton was always a factor to be reckoned with , the Penton Brothers and my personal favorite Carl Cranke ( Crazy Cranke) .

Now let’s talk about some of the machinery I see in your garage. A BMW RS? What size is that? The little Royal Enfield cafe racer is cool, but what jumped out at me immediately was that Hurricane gas tank! Is there a motorcycle attached to that? If there is....talk about garage art! That’s the ultimate! You should’ve led with that.
Man if I had a Hurricane, that baby would be on display in my living room!
