is there a difference in swingarms between disk and drum? Other then the most noticeable the brake stays are different, but is the width different can you mount a drum onto a disk swingarm and use the stock spacers ?

i was just looking at my 71 frame and getting to brat style the seat rails and notice that the left ( sprocket side) shock mounts is offset? the right ( brake side ) one seems to be square with the down tube but the left one seems to be more to the outside. any thoughts?
