2013 xs650 build off bikes

Started my hard tail tonight....I'll post a teaser pic of the helmet I'm making to go along with my build off bike (its an old 70s chopper helmet and the jaw of a dirt bike helmet fiberglassed together) :) have a good Thanksgiving fellas!

Well I finished my most recent order tonight so now its time to get cracking on my build. Spent a good part of the night leveling my lift in every direction...and found center on it and scored a line down the middle in prep for my hardtail install...also got a set of these in the mail today...1960 Cadillac hubcaps....these will become my rear wheel covers....they should look killer polished and with this new white wall i got.

Also picked this spoolie rim up from a buddy I wasn't going to use it but I just scored a couple springers (one round long and one short square) so it may end up on there

The Caddy hubcaps kick ass, I'm waiting on my 54 Pontiac hub caps... will take another few weeks as I live overseas. Hope they fint nice on my rear mag. Did you have trouble making them stay on the rim?

Thanks guys...hub caps need to be altered to fit a bike rim..they unfortantly don't just snap in like on a car. You'll need to cut the fingers of the back of the cap so it will sit flush then drill a few holes in the cap in a triangle layout to bolt the two caps together...I just machined some spacers and bolted to those.

And yes the hard tails is from Travis....a super quality kit. I've used kits and while rear sections in every shape and form on past builds....thus far this is my most fav.

Did all of the finish welds tonight....just need to decide how I want to tie in the seat post....and do one more cross bar when my fender shows up...

looks good doesnt the kit come with a cross bar to tie in the seat post?

i started play'n with some mags 2day the one in the pic still needs some work on the spoke part but the ball milling in the lip is cool. this is a pic of a xs400 wheel i had around the shop i needed a lab rat to give the jig i made a good test b4 a F'd up a good 650 wheel.

not bad for a test run with some fine tunning i think it will look bad ass on the build off bike and now if i ever get a xs400 i got a sweet wheel for the front of it:laugh:

Yea the kit does....the seat tube and the piece Travis includes are different diameters so I'm just trying to figure out the cleanest way to tie the two together.

That ball milling looks rad as fuck man!

i see i've use 1/4 plate to fix that on a few tcbro kits. i cut it just wide enough for the seat post and the weld then bend it to the angle i need to get all the tubes tied 2gether plus with it been thinker steel you can pop some holes in it for style
and the ball milling on the lip takes a bit but helps set the wheels apart from the other speed holed mags out there.

Looks good guys! My copper fender came last week and I'm finishing up the hardtail in my jig ... As soon as I get more argon, I hate running out on a Saturday. Haha
