Right on Gary, looks good. Man you are so fast with this stuff. I feel like such a hack!
Good stuff!
NEXT!!!

Awesome job gggGary, looks great, well done! Your wife will be thrilled. Happy wife, happy life.

And a ton of helpful information added to your legacy and to this forum that will be a huge benefit forevermore.
Kudos!

Looking forward to following the next one.

50 miles last night, I'd find my self all hunched over, back roached out, straighten up, get good posture and 5 minutes later............

LOTS of paint in her choice of colors,
Still working on it.....

I dunno, man. That paint scheme makes me nervous. My natural suspicions envision you and Allison out on a ride, stop somewhere, and certain pre-selected folks start vocalizing comparisons about your pristine "Restomod", versus her "Ugly but works". Guilt trip. Repercussions to follow...

And it's officially hers. Insured yesterday mailing in title with collector plate today.

You can see why I need to get the carbs spot on. Need to pull them again, think I will drop the floats just a bit and go from the 45 pilots back to stock 42.5. It's rich at and above idle. Mains are 135 and seem good.

Well done Gary! Keep the wife happy and life is good.
My wife only tried riding a motorcycle once, about 40 years ago. She got down the driveway, across the street and said that's it, can't do that:laugh2:

I'm liking the idea of using the used (read cheaper) FZR rotors on the XS. Does anyone know if all years of the FZR 600 compatible? How about using one on the rear to match? I don't know off hand whether the front and rear rotors are the same size, but I can check when I get home.

Excellent Gary - and nice video. I must admit, I was a bit scared when Madam came out in shorts without a helmet - but she togged-up very well before getting going.

Cheers,

Pete

the early ones match XS bolt circle and ID, looks like 89 to 99, in the fiches there are several parts used maybe just color and detail changes?

later have MUCH larger bolt circle it's obvious in pics.
The rear XS rotor is a smaller OD so the fzr won't plug and play.
Note: I machined a 7mm spacer, this is needed to use the FZR rotor.

Typical twin clatter, but those pipes sound nice!

That's a good sounding bike there Gary, and I like the black jugs, rather Triumph like. I also think it's cool that your wife also rides. I'm lucky to get my wife on the back long enough to go fo coffee! Haha
Well done.
