Dakota tracker

I just got some parts back from the powder coater. I did the swing arm in a color called near chrome and the number plates are just white.

I made a small bracket the other day and sent it off to be powder coated along with my swing arm. I made the bracket to fit the small speedo and tach from dime city cycles

I also took my freshly powder coated number plates to my buddy the sigh man, and had him do the numbers. I went with the number 58. I have fond memories of my dad and I going to the half mile flat track in Sturgis when I was in grade school. The one racer that sticks out in my mind was Davey Durelle(from the twin cities at the time). He ran the number 58 and I think he still does. Davey runs Durelle racing out of Elizabeth Colorado now. In fact I bought my tires from Davey for this project. I also kicked around several ideas for my licence plate. I finally decided to mount it under the seat pan. I had a piece of alum. pipe that I cut in half and then I bent the plate to match the pipe and mounted the whole thing off a small bracket that I welded to the frame.

Happy easter to everyone. Just registered the tracker for our 25th black hills bike show this afternoon. the show is mostly harleys but theres going to be at least one xs there in the under construction class.

Well, the tracker is looking a little different. I have the freshly powder coated disk brake swing arm on and I have a few coats of high build gray primer on the tank and tail pan. I picked up my paint yesterday, I'm going with the Kenny Roberts paint scheme so I got white, black and 95 corvette yello. I also painted my pipes and mufflers with some high temp John deere muffler paint.

This is a 1911 Indian board tracker at the 25th Black Hills bike show. They said it was a 6yr build from nothing but photos.

Well we got a 2nd place at the 25th black hills bike show. I have plumber friend that is part of the hog group that puts on the show, he asked me several times if I would put the bike in the show. I told him it was'nt even close to being done, he said we have an under construction class. I put it in in the under construction class and the show judges moved me to the compitition class with finished bikes. Im thinking I dont have a chance against some nice drag bikes. But what the hell, I guess I dont care if I win or lose. It was fun and helped fill a hole on the show floor.

I thought I needed a sponsor for the tracker. I came up with my made up cycle shop because I live in community called woodland hills. My friend the sign man made the Woodland hills cycle worXS sticker for nothing. I did a little play on the worXS part, I was also thinking I should put a phone number underneath that read 650-1981

Rusty,
That Indian is nice! Wish I could have made it up there someday I will get there I got to hook up with pregrid at the end of the month here at some point. Great job on the award just imagine when this is all done! The sticker is so.... tricking cool dig it man!!!

I conned my sign guy to make me a phone number and a few colored trees to go along with my cycle shop sticker today. I hope nobody take this serious and calls the number, sort of like the old tommy two tone 867-5309 song.
