Forgot the T fuel line... LOL And since MikesXS didn't send me the instructions on "Heiden Dyno Tune Needle & Jet Kit for Mikuni BS34 CV carbs" I went ahead and presented the velocity stacks...

Lex, the carbs look great! I want to have my bowls powder coated black now too

I'm going to have to put a "inspired by solidlex" sticker on my engine and carbs

Hey, Lex, was lookin' at your pics #7 #8, throttle shaft seals. Can't really see that well.

Then did a google search: "throttle+shaft+seal+lip"

And found these (there's more):

And this excellent thread, and one of the posts:

I'm completely unfamiliar with the proper orientation of the seal lips.
Is this important?

They look amazing! Can I have your postal address so I can send you mine??!:D:laugh::thumbsup:

Thanks man. I have to send Steel Dragon a picture of how they look after they're finished. They really wanted to see how their velocity stacks look after being glass bead blasted. Cleaning the carbs was no easy task, and I guess now I know why OldSkoolCarbs charges so much. I used their pictures as inspiration as well. However, I'm gonna have a hard time fine tuning the carbs. Since the carbs came off a running bike, I left the float boats the same but I'm sure I'll have to check them anyway.

RD, I was looking at your thread the other day. Holy fucking shit man. That engine is looking REALLY nice. I'm gonna follow yours whenever I get to the ignition part. That, PMA, exhaust and I should be able to rig the engine to a rolling platform so I can start fine tuning it. Seriously bro, your engine looks sweet. :yikes::thumbsup:

Interesting observation my friend. I actually put the lip inwards on all of them. :wtf:

No loc-tite there my friend. I'm not sure if you've tried to get them out before to work on the butterly shaft, but they're staked. I'll be doing that to them once I know everything is fine tuned because removing staked screws is a BITCH.

Nice work, make sure you loc-tite those butterfly screws.

I thought the same of mine, but I checked them anyway, and they were off by 5mm!! You may as well check them while the carbs are apart. You will be kicking yourself if you don't and they are wrong! But, going by your meticulous bulid, I'm sure you will be checking them anyway!!

Oh I'll be running through everything again. I was just putting shit together. LOL

Little trip to the hardware store to get a small hex key for the set screws on the velocity stacks (1/16) and some new e-clips for the plungers. Got lucky enough to find the right size.

And I have to find a way to attach this filter to the crankcase breather so any ideas will be greatly appreciated. In the meantime, it's just snug in there because I want to make sure when I put the carbs there's clearance, etc.

Waiting on a response from Heiden Tunning or MikesXS about the missing instructions for the aftermarket needles... Just gonna leave everything neatly organized and to the side for now.

Now, can someone tell how how the fuck do you get this rubber over that dam thing. Jesus. No idea how to.

Soapy water on the shaft or in the rubber thing and just wiggle it on. Once you get it started it should slide on pretty easy. May have to persuade it to start by standing the rubber up and whacking the peg with a rubber mallet

We usually (oldschool) put them on by pouring a little gas on the shaft, a little inside the rubber, stand the rubber vertically on the floor, and shove the shaft right down onto the rubber, muscling it on using your weight. Gotta be fast, though, the slickness of the gasoline disappears after several seconds...
