I was wondering who runs them?

I have a 74 and i want to use them with my stock head pipes...my bike isn't close so i can't measure the head pipes right now. will they fit 74 head pipes?

My best guess is yes. It has a 1.5 inlet, thats the size of your headpipe OD.

The stock pipes on my '77D are slightly larger than 1.5", probably due to being metric. The mufflers may have a very tight fit with stock pipes.

I have them on Mike's 1.5 headers. I also have a new pair of BSA 1968 mufflers that fit the same headers. I have never tried them on stock pipes. Tony C

A snug fit will help seal the muffler to the headpipe. I think instead of grinding I might use the headpipe to expand the muffler a bit. With the muffler and header off the bike, slip the header into the muffler. Then while holding the muffler move the header in around and this will expand the muffler. As the muffler expands slip the header in farther. Working it like this will allow a very snug slip fit. Then the clamp has a better chance to seal the joint.

Here is a picture mounted to Mike's headers. TC
