Mikuni carb dumping gas

I'm helping a buddy put his hd chopper back together hooked up the carb and turned the gas on and it just poors out of the side of the carb any help would be great it's a mikuni 45 ( I told him he should have got an xs lol)

Check the float height.

Also, make sure you tell him that those Japanese carbs are pissing all over his "All American" bike.

If the float height is within spec, make sure the valve has a good seat and isn't stuck open with grit or anything.

The inlet fitting may be the problem. A plastic fitting was used that can be replaced with brass.

Thats to big a carb anyway. The stock 40 will feed any thing up to 110 inches.
A 45 needs 120 inches to work right.

Got it guess it was something to do with vacuum put a line on the overflow and plugged it with a bolt started it up let it run for a min took the bolt out and it stopped and hasn't done it again
