Show Us Yer Junk!

Throw this at the wall, see if it sticks, these thin SS spatulas are the bomb, originally it had a white ceramic handle I turned a piece of walnut firewood held on with plastic bumper epoxy when the original glue let go.

We're cooking with gas now!
Cool shadow box @Machine
RP you made me think (how rare is that?)
Think the frying pan wiped with olive oil is going in the oven when I cook pizza. Love 2fers.
I don't use a percolator in the kitchen, but A perc coffee pot is a must have for camping trips I use a paper filter inside the basket.
As does @RustiePyles, I use salt to scrub when I need it. My iron is nonstick better than Teflon and we use it every day. I have a soft Lodge brush that cleans them with hot water.
That pan you showed us needs seasoning. Use oil of choice. I'm all about healthy fats, so I use lard. Wipe that skillet like you were trying to clean it with your fat. Put it in the oven, open side down, for one hour at 350-400F. Let it cool. Repeat twice more. Now use it. Tomato based dishes are hard on the seasoning, so don't leave stuff like that in the pan sitting. The next dish in it should be bacon or fry eggs in butter. Repeat the process if you have to scrub it down again. Otherwise just use it.
I love the old smooth bottom pans, but we have a new Lodge skillet with rough finish and it works just as well. The only thing I have against it is the weight. That thing is very heavy, but once heat soaked, you can fry a steak without heat under it! There are several manufacturers that have just come on line, but a nice new pan is very expensive as compared to Lodge. Lodge is a good deal for new. I prefer the old stuff. Old bikes too!

Yes. all of that ☝☝☝☝ I'd add one thing, be sure to let a fresh initial coat of seasoning cool in the oven at the same rate as the oven until fully cool.

Cast iron is the best and all I use. I keep some bacon grease in the fridge and put in a small amount as the pan warms up. After cleaning i heat the pan and wipe it down with a paper towel and bacon grease. We have chickens so we eat a lot of eggs and never have a problem with sticking.
A Lodge skillet is a lifetime purchase...

I am a book guy (technology, naval and aviation history and militaria) and so my downstairs office is filled (i.e. cluttered) with A LOT of books - as well as my consulting stuff and telecommunications equipment. I spend my days (and often nights) in here.

...oh, and I have a TV with a ROKU stick for watching YouTube videos when I am off-desk.

and my most treasured possessions: some model submarines that my Dad made for me from a plans in book by Walter A. Musciano back around 1965-67. Pictured are models of a WW-1 German U-Boat, the USS Nautilus (the world's first nuclear submarine), a WW-2 USN Fleet submarine and the little Turtle which was used during the US Civil War. Also, there is a very nice display model of the DeHavilland DH98 Mosquito which I bought in a charity auction some years back.

I love vintage stereo stuff. And yes, the prices are crazy right now. I listen to vinyl more than I watch TV which is good for the soul.
My '67 Zenith console.

My vinyl set-up is a Technics SLD-202 TT, Kenwood KA 5700 Integrated and TimeFrame TF500 speakers.

Love those bookshelves Pete.

It's my goal to do the same. My wife turned the upstairs suite over to me, without me having to ask. She likes TV. I don't.
My Sansui G801 is getting dropped with a specialist tomorrow. I bought it in 1979.

If I could go back in a time machine, I'd probably buy the Marantz, but this thing is a powerhouse. Yes, mine still looks that good. It just needs a thorough tune-up.

It's an '85 Ford Ranger. It was my daughter's HS ride but now it serves as the farm beater/parts chaser.
Good truck.
Ah, I see. Lot of carry over from 83-85 between the Mazda based Courier and the Ford built Ranger. Those bed hooks are carry overs from the late model couriers. Those early ranger are cool little PU's

Sansui's are beautiful too and not as pricey these days as a Marantz.
Good luck with the repair. Out here it's taking months to get stuff back.

My first two duty stations in the Navy were the Philippine Islands and Japan. I bought a nice Sansui setup with a TEAC reel-to-reel. Enjoyed a lot of music that way.

When I shipped from Maine back to Japan, the movers thought they needed the stereo worse than I did and by then I had a family and had higher priorities for the claim money than replacing the stereo.

Now-a-days, I'm deaf in one ear and can't hear out of the other so spending money on anything fancier than a 60's transistor AM radio is a waste.

I found a guy in the cottage industry. He works only on 60's and 70's HiFi. He won't ship out. I'm sure he has a backlog. 90 minutes away.

This used to be my side of the garage where I built Go Karts and Motorcycles etc. Now it`s Glenda`s "Junk Emporium". If you look close in the background you can see tool box`s, a press, polisher and drill press all no longer accessible. Blocked by Glenda`s "Junk". There is a small path through the center of the garage. Lucky for me I`ve got duplicate`s of all my tools on the other side of the garage where I`ve been relocated.

halfmile, I had to chuckle when I read your entry. My first work area was a workbench by the washer-dryer. Big enough for the time and projects I was doing at the time. Wife wanted that space for shelving/storage. Fine. Relocated to a bigger space in the next room. 10 or so years later madam says that space will now be the teenage kid's room. You get to have a Toughtshed built in the yard. So a 12' X 16' slab poured and a 12' X 16' shed build on a steel foundation. 9' walls. 2 south facing sky lights. Took a while to move all the stuff in. It's still not "organised". Probably never will be. Madam won't go in there . I'm not moving again.

Since we recently moved, our new house doesn't have the storage capacity of our old house. We weren't happy living in a storage facility. I was mad every day. We hired somebody to help us put it in good order. In the process, we got rid of truckloads of crap. I focused in on what I want to continue playing with, and the rest went away. There's still some more I need to loosen my grip on and make go away.

I need to move.....
