Street Tracker 650 for Fun

I've been holding off on the wiring because it's my least favorite part of the build. and to make matters worse I am using newer R6 switches and the wiring is very different. I am trying to eliminate all the BS stuff from the XS harness. I also wired in a newer style fuse block from a XJ600. I decided to do the banshee PMA swap at the same time. Using a ZX600 stator and CBR rectifier. I ordered one of the new Pamco Ignitions w/electronic advance, should be getting that soon so I can wire it all at the same time.
Some pic of the whole mess and the PMA swap.

Progress has been a little slow lately, but I have managed to take care of some details. I got my 520 sprockets from Sprocket Specialists. Went with 17/32 gearing to help keep the RPM's down a bit on the highway. I made a rear chain guide work off a MX bike with a little modification. I used a front guide off an XT350 cut down some to fit. Also mounted a roller just under the swingarm pivot to keep consistent tension on the chain.

Finally done with the wiring. Everything seems to work. I eliminated much of the XS's BS. I did a Banshee PMA conversion along with a Pamco Ign. W/elec. advance. A more modern Fuse box, starter relay and turn signal relay. I used 09 Yamaha R6 switches that were a little bit of a challenge to wire ,but I made it all work. Since I eliminated the XS starter safety switch I added a clutch starter safety switch into the system for a some added protection. Decided to go with a 8 cell lithium battery to save space. I made a tray under the seat for some of the electrics and battery.
Just need to take care of some details and to some final welding before tear down.
Gettin' closer to the finish.

Finally got this thing torn down and sent off many parts for powder coat. Here's a couple of pics of some the stuff that I got back already. Lacing up the wheels is next on my list.

Painted the motor black although both engine covers, points covers and rocker covers are powder coated. Took care of some details like painting the YAMAHA logo's and installing mesh behind the flywheel cover. Really happy with the way it came out.
I also laced and trued my wheels. Still waiting on a couple of things from PC. Also need to get my paint work done, but I'm gettin close.

That painted motor and mesh look awesome! Nice work, I'm looking forward to seeing the final product.

Progress has been a little slow lately. I did get my exhaust pipes finished and mounted. Both pipes were ceramic coated matte black and the tips coated silver. Can't wait to here what she sounds like.

Hmm... How many spokes did you go with on the front wheel? That's exactly the same amount I think would look good with my build, whenever I get to that part.

I'm also looking to do a mono-shock and was wondering if you could fill me on some of the details. My rim choice does however have me going to about a 10 1/2 inch wide inner dimension on the swing arm. I was hoping to go with one from a crotch rocket just for the sake of all the pre-assembled mounting brackets. I was curious to know how you found out the I.D. of the swing arm. I'm hoping you know of a way to search that, cause I find them on ebay, but with little measurement info. I also am trying to avoid going one by one.
