Just wondering if anybody reused the center stand on thier hardtailed frame? If so, you have any pictures?

Most hardtails are much lower than the stock bikes so the center stand will be to tall and a real PITA to use. Unless you cut the stand shorter.
I think when you cut off the frame for the hardtail you lose the center stand mounts.

Sorry, I should have said, has anybody made a shorter center stand and fabbed new mounts on their hardtailed frame.

That would work great in the shop, but hard to haul on bike, I'm just thinking of trying something other than a kick stand.

I've been thinking about this as well - have a Voodoo Vintage frame and am thinking about stands. Ultimately I'll probably just put a kick stand on it but I'm trying to think of an alternative, something more discrete etc. Not for the utility of a center stand, but rather just something 'different'.

Center stands just don't say "cool" like a deliberate hard lean...

Doing something that nobody else does says "cool", doing the same as everybody says "I have no imagination".

how about a really old idea? strutted off the rear axle, spring clip loaded off the rear fender... seen them off the front fender too... just ideas

I think the biggest problem with center stands is that they are ugly as shit and take up a lot of space.

LOL! You're talking to the guy with the remote controlled XS...

And, tattoo'ing your face, wearing your pajamas to the mall, or dating a midget, doesn't mean you're cool...

Some things (center stands, etc.) look like shit on a bike. And, some things are classically "cool"...

Just my .02 (no offense to the pro-center stand folks).

Why? I asked if somebody has done it, not if you liked center stands. Do you spend alot of time under bikes with center stands? And what else are you putting under your bike that you need to conserve room by not putting on a center stand?

LOL! Had remote on my truck for years! Didn't ask about face tattoos, pajamas or midgets. And just because you say "no offense" doesn't make it ok to treat people like crap! I'm not really offended, just don't care for the "I don't like it, so it sucks attitued".

I hear ya, Head...

But, you're asking guys that have chopped, lowered and stretched a bike what's wrong with putting a center stand back on like a moped. You couldn't have expected a positive response. Right?

Nope, didn't ask what people thought about it. I asked if anybody had done it. I have no problem with people not agreeing with me, the problem is that people think that if they don't like something it sucks or it's a dumb idea. Don't get me wrong your bike is cool, but just because i don't want mine to have remote start doesn't mean your ideas suck , just means we are different and different is good (sometimes i guess). Matter of fact guy at work has remote start on his wifes sled (now thats cool, because he doesn't have to start her sled for her)

I got cha. I'm not trying to be a dick about it. But, I don't think you're going to find many that have put a center stand back on a hardtailed bike. 1. It's probably too low. 2. It probably doesn't look right on a modded frame.

But, if you're interested in doing something like that, nobody is going to say you're wrong. It's your bike, brotha.

Tuesday night is my drinking night, so bear with me...
