- - - As an older rider, I have ridden in the rain many, many times and while I don’t really enjoy or like riding wet, I must say that it doesn’t bother me all that much. I find that within 2-3 minutes, I’m about as wet as I am going to get and as long as my facesheild keeps my face dry, I sort of retreat into my little carbon fibre space module and watch the weather through the window. It’s an odd sensation and I don’t think it involves an unsafe detachment from my riding or the road environment, but I seem to be able to essentially ignore the rain during the ride. Getting my gear off later is a whole OTHER story, however. I hate that yucky sticky feeling of wet gear.
Does anyone else have that sort of detached outlook on rainy weather riding? - - -

RainXRain runs off so fast visibility isn't a problem.
Yeah I got rainX for plastic overall I prefer the cleaner waxes sposed I'll have to pony up for one of the "ceramic" miracle in a bottle finishes next. Not to mention one bottle hits all the shiny stuff on the bike.RainX
Raced for years with Scott goggles, a "race face" and a "duck bill"
My race face snapped to the bottom of my goggles. If I remember right I had a Bell motostar. Even though I rode enduros and hare scrambles motocross gloves were the way to go.But the race face! For those who haven’t seen one, you drilled your helmet and screwed snaps on the side and simply snapped a mouth guard on your helmet. Oh and I had the mandatory duck bill visor too!
...is that you under the helmet in your younger days?Man! I haven’t heard the term race face in a LONG time!
When I was a teenage boy, tearing up the desert on my dirt bike, my protective equipment consisted of an open face Bell RT helmet and a pair of old lace up work boots.

Everything in the desert has thorns , including the bushes. After a few times of coming home and digging thorns out of my knuckles, I bought a pair of early Moto cross gloves, remember these?

Nothing but a pair of leather gloves with strips of rubber sewn on the back , but they worked.

I clean my visors (and MC windshields) with various spray "wax" products. Rain runs off so fast visibility isn't a problem. I've had several pinlock helmet visors now, they really work for anti fog. Too bad my preferred helmet doesn't have one.

Went for a ride yesterday afternoon ended up in Forest City MN about a 90 mile roundtrip from home
The county roads are a blast to ride on Minimal traffic plenty of curves and the small town people are great
and the 2 beers we had were ice cold And the only gas pump was of course out of order
