New game: Which bike brought the most money at auction?

But every once in a while a real gem slips through that just doesn’t bring the bidding and it sells for less than it’s worth!

Quoting myself here. 😄 I was once at a Barret Jackson auction here in Scottsdale, I was sitting in the crowd watching the cars being sold and this Ferrari comes up. Well it was this kinda weird 70’s body, but it was an honest to Gawd Ferrari and it had no reserve. Nobody was bidding on it, the auctioneer kept stopping and talking to the audience, practically pleading somebody to bid on it. At one point he even asked does anybody have a high school kid that needs a car? 😄 it sold for $12,000.

Without inspections, determining value, much less relative value is impossible. :sneaky:
Note to buyers; have bike shipped to me, I'll do a thorough ride inspection and report my finding's here.
It appears the FJ1200 visiting here will be an easy sell at $3500. Just suspended ad cuz DRMR.....
When I get back a few more details to complete and off it goes.
As normal with a gentleman's Express Cum N Go's, doing a "test" ride, a County Mountie gave the brakelight tap but not the U turn, good thing I had slowed down just before he approached.
Maybe if I taped a splint to my right wrist....

Totally agree, these auction sales prices don’t indicate true value. Just a fun little diversion.
I remember reading an article in one of the moto mags once, where the author went to the Vegas auction to buy a BMW R90S. Beautiful bike with what turned out to be, tons of undisclosed problems. 😢

You guys wanna go another round? I’ve got way too much time on my hands! 😆 Ok, clearly you eagle eyes know your bikes and that was too easy. Today….The battle of the Yamahas!
Keep in mind that todays offerings came from the Las Vegas Mecham auction, the big Kahuna! Prices can really soar there. So without further ado, here are your candidates, list them from most expensive to least.

First up a Holy Grail first year DT1 250 Enduro that recently underwent a full restoration.

Second a 1984 RZ350, with low original miles, came from a museum collection and still wears the original tires.

And third, a very nicely done 650 street tracker of unknown providence.

Just a bonus here, this is not part of the challenge ( I was going to add it but it wouldn’t be fair ) this 850 Midnight Special went for stupid money. Care to take a guess?

Wanna go again? I’ve got more Yamahas, but today let’s play Battle of the Rare bikes ! 🤔
You know the drill , place them in order of most to least expensive. 😎

First up, everybody loves them and one of my favorite bikes, the Craig Vetter designed Triumph Hurricane, a super desirable collectors bike.

Next up, Willie G Davidsons first design effort for Harley, the ‘71 “Boat Tail” Super Glide. Limited numbers produced and not well received when new, now are considered extremely collectible.

And last up, A pre production ,one off , Kawasaki Ninja 900 that was privately owned by a Kawasaki executive.
